The department has four divisions. The Administrative Division handles financial issues related to the department. This includes recruiting and hiring new officers, grants, payroll, and citizen complaints.
The Patrol Division is the largest division at the Newington Connecticut police department. This division provides the first response to emergencies, investigates accidents, oversees traffic, and handles the Bicycle Patrol Unit.
The Support Services Division manages the community service officers, animal control, school resource officers, communications, and training.
The Investigative Division handles the original and follow-up investigations for major crimes such as sexual assaults, murders, and robberies.
Police reports are available at the Records Division Monday through Friday between 8:30a.m. and 4:30p.m.
